Welcome / News / FROM THE BRA CHAIRWOMAN

Dear BRA Members,

A new year and a new chapter in our lives which hopefully started well for you all and will continue to do so. Despite the Christmas and New Year period, your regional Council members have managed to arrange some interesting events for February, March and April.

Andrew Konecki has stepped down as Vice-Chairman but continues in his role as Chairman of Romandie East. John Pickett, our website master, has taken over the role of Vice-Chairman. Thank you, Andrew, for all your support and help and carry on the excellent work you do for Romandie East. I would like to thank all of our Regional Chairpeople and Councillors who work hard throughout the year to find and arrange events for you all.

Anzac Day will be commemorated on Saturday, 25th April. On behalf of the Members of the British Residents’ Association, we will lay a wreath at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Cemetery at St. Martin’s Church in Vevey. Details of this event is on our Romandie East and Romandie West Regions page.

Please note the following date for your diary: our Annual General Meeting will be held in Bern at the Hotel Bern on Friday, 29th May 2026. Our speaker at the luncheon following the AGM will be Dr. Richard Budgett, who has recently retired from being the Medical Director of the International Olympic Committee. In his youth he was an Olympic gold medallist in rowing. As soon as all the details of the AGM are confirmed, they will be posted on the website.
