Dear BRA Members,
As I am writing this the temperature outside is 39 degrees, Basel has been the hottest place in Switzerland! This Bulletin covers August, September and October so hopefully by that time it will be considerably cooler. Due to the summer holidays and the heat we do not organize as many events in July and August.
The 79th Annual General Meeting was an enjoyable event I am delighted to say that all the proposed motions were carried unanimously, this included the Council all being re-elected for 2026-27 and subscriptions for 2027, once again to be kept at CHF 65.–. for single membership and CHF 90.–. for family membership.
Our speaker, Dr. Richard Budgett, gave a fascinating talk about being the Medical and Scientific Director of the International Olympic Committee before he retired. Our Patron, His Excellency the British Ambassador James Squire proposed the loyal toast and also gave us the news from the Embassy. James and his Embassy team have shown a great interest in the Association and try to help whenever they can and by keeping
us up to date. Hope to see more of you at our 80th Annual General Meeting next year.
Let your summer dream continue all August long. As we say goodbye to summer and hello to September, may you find peace and contentment in the changing seasons. October is about trees revealing colours, they’ve hidden all year.
