MESSAGE FROM THE BRITISH EMBASSY, BERN
As summer is well underway, we are delighted to look back on one of the highlights of the Embassy calendar: the King’s Birthday Party, hosted by the British Embassy in Berne in June.
This year’s celebration took inspiration from the Henley Royal Regatta, one of the great traditions of the British summer season. With its links to rowing, riverside gatherings, sporting excellence and unmistakable British style, Henley provided a fitting theme for an evening celebrating friendship, partnership and the enduring strength of the UK–Swiss relationship. It was a pleasure to welcome guests from across Switzerland to mark the Official Birthday of His Majesty The King and to celebrate the many connections that bring our two countries closer together. The King’s Birthday Party is always an important moment for the Embassy:
not only a celebration of British culture and tradition, but also an opportunity to 7 thank the many partners, colleagues and friends whose work helps strengthen the UK’s relationship with Switzerland and Liechtenstein throughout the year.
We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making this year’s event such a memorable occasion. We were also very pleased to attend the British Residents’ Association’s own King’s Birthday celebrations. Events such as these are a wonderful reminder of the strength and warmth of the British community in Switzerland, and of the important role the BRA continues to play in bringing people together across
the country. We look forward to continuing this spirit of friendship and collaboration.
