Our journey this time takes us outside of the North-West Swiss region and into Germany.
We are visiting the Christmas Market in the town of Freiburg in Breisgau.
The Christmas market is held every year from the second half of November until Christmas.
The market is located in Rathausplatz in the centre of the ancient quarter of the city.
The houses around the square create an enchanting decor for the charming market.
In the many wooden huts, visitors can buy various handmade crafts and toys, unique to the Black Forest area.
Gifts and decorations are on display alongside hotdogs, hot chestnuts, apples and candied almonds, hot cider, Glühwein and punch to warm body and soul on a cold winter’s day.
