Estavayer-le-Lac is often called the city of the rose.
Every year at the beginning of summer, hundreds of roses colour the whole town.
(there are over 4000 roses bushes scattered through the town.)
Every two years since 2013, the streets are transformed into a floral paradise with exhibitions, conferences and a market during the Festival des Roses. A dazzling selection of rose-themed products is sold at the market.
We shall have a meal together and then everyone will be free to roam the streets.
Transport:
For members arriving by train, there is le Petit Train which leaves from the station every hour (10 mins past the hour) and takes you down to the centre of the town.
