Meet at the water fountain in the centre of Gruyères around 11h00. An opportunity to go for a coffee, and a walk around the town.

We have the choice to sit outside, back or front of the restaurant, depending on the weather conditions.
The restaurant provides blankets, but they are quite thin, so it is advisable to have warm weather gear with you.
Who knows, by May 12 we might be in the middle of a heat wave.
” Participants are not obliged to select fondue. There are plenty of alternative dishes to choose from the menu . Those who wish to have fondue will eat together on separate tables of four “.
After lunch, an optional visit to the Castle, or the HR Giger Museum. Or maybe you prefer to linger over coffee and the remains of your wine with good conversation in the afternoon sunshine.
This visit is dependent on Cantonal relaxation of present coronavirus rules.
Parking:
The parking lot at the very top next to the village can get very full. It may mean that we will have to park down the hill, which will require a stiff walk up to the village. It is possible to can arrange to pick anybody up who finds the walk up a little too daunting.
