JOINT EVENT ROMANDIE EAST, ROMANDIE WEST AND CENTRAL REGION
A unique opportunity to visit the Distillerie Louis Morand (Rue de Plaisance 2, 1920 Martigny), founded in Martigny in 1889, and still owned by the Morand family, now in its 4th generation (https://www.morand.ch/en/expertise/history/ ). If his busy schedule permits, we hope to be joined at lunch by Jean-Pierre Morand, one of the current family directors. The Valais is renowned for its
high-quality apricots, pears and other fruit, which form the basis for the range of Morand products – including non-alcoholic cordials and juices https://www.lesbonssirops.ch/en/home/ .
From the Lion d’Or restaurant, it is a short (150m) walk to the Morand factory where the guided tour (in English) will begin promptly at 14h00 and last for about 90 minutes… including time to sample the products. If anyone wishes to do the tour without taking lunch, please make this clear when registering and go straight to the Distillery by 13:55.
The Brasserie Le Lion d’Or is an 850m, 12-minute walk from Martigny station, straight along the Avenue de la Gare.
Bus options:
No. 210 towards Martigny-Croix, getting off at Hôpital (3rd stop), then walk 2 mins (190m).
No. 213 towards Trient, Betty, getting off at Bassin du Manoir (2nd stop) then walk 3.5 mins (300m).
Any drivers should park at the Parking des Morasses (Rue des Morasses, 1920 Martigny)… but remember that some of Morand’s products are high in alcohol, so public transport is advisable!
