To begin the new season, we are organising a visit to a rather special collection of historic boats – rowboats, gondolas fishing, hunting and smuggling boats, as well as motorboats, steamboats, hydroplanes, racing catamarans and sailing boats from the olden days along with engines slides and photographs – in other words anything to do with boats.
The museum aims to tell the nautical history from ancient Roman times not only on Lake Como but Italy as a whole.
The place was shut for 18 years but thanks to help and donations from generous supporters it is now open and well worth a visit with lots to see!
We will have lunch beforehand in a small restaurant nearby details of which will be nearer the day.
