The Ehgraben, one of Zürich’s archaeological windows, is the passage of the medieval and later houses where kitchen and latrine rubbish was thrown (even as late as the 19th century when it was collected as night soil).
This is the last and only one that exists and I will be obtaining the key from the Stadthaus.
As there are several keys to the passage and as a time cannot be booked, it is possible we may have to wait if others are there before us.
There is no guide but there are explanatory illustrated placards.
A table will be reserved at the Kantorei Restaurant, Neumarkt 2, in the old town from 14:15 onwards.
Non Ehgraben visitors, should be there by 14:30 at the latest.
