We will be met by local BRA member John Pickett and he will give us a guided walking tour of the Ville des Arts exhibition, featuring sculptures and artworks displayed throughout the historic streets of Waldenburg. During the walk, John will also tell the story of this picturesque medieval town and its rich history.
At 12:30 we will stop for lunch at the historic Restaurant Schlüssel. Our host, Dusha, will prepare a quality lunch, with several menu choices available. Each participant simply pays for whatever they order and consume. The former hotel has a remarkable history—General Napoleon Bonaparte spent a night there during his journey through Switzerland in November 1797.
After lunch, those who wish are warmly invited to Johns home, directly opposite the restaurant, for coffee, tea and refreshments, together with the opportunity to continue chatting and relaxing. We look forward to welcoming you for a relaxed day of art, history, good food and friendly company in one of Basel-Lands most charming towns.
