Southern Ticino was populated by a great variety of organisms between 180 and 245 million years ago.
The museum in Meride, designed by world renowned Ticinese architect, Mario Botta, exhibits a collection of fossils found on Monte San Giorgio where there is an on-going interest as part of a UNESCO site.
It is possible to find small shell fossils during a stroll around the mountain.
We will meet at Beverly’s and car-pool to the museum in Meride.
