Meet: Restaurant Schwedenschenke, Insel Mainau
1100h NB Shuttlebus from bus-stops, carpark to the
Restaurant. 2 mins from the jetty on foot.
Then on to the Palmenhaus, back to the Restaurant
Schwedenschenke for lunch from 1230h.
After lunch wander along the enthralling pathways and a visit to the Butterfly House is a
recommendation (it is a little larger than our Swiss one!).
After 1500h meet up in the Café Vergissmeinnicht, run by students preparing for professional life
and schooling. Founded by the countess in 2011, as a social-pedagogic experiment – she even serves
in the café.
Getting there: Easy access by car. Ample parking. Free shuttle-bus to the Restaurant
Schwedenschenke.
Public transport: Good train connections + short bus-ride from Constance.
Boat to the east side of the island is an attractive route (2024 prices not yet available).
Entry ticket: With a group of 10, €22.
