Well, this must have been the worst day to go out on a discovery trip.
We had howling winds, rain and freezing temperatures. Despite that and our umbrellas turning inside out every five minutes we had a great time with a fascinating guide.

Olten is steeped in history and our guide Mr. Frei told us the most interesting facts about Olten and its connections with Basel and Solothurn.
Solothurn is a beautiful baroque town while Olten has the industry and money and this causes quite a bit of jealousy between the two.

After an hour of battling the weather, we ended up at the Rathshaus in the old part of town, we soon warmed up and had a lovely lunch before braving the storm again to get to the train station.

All in all a good day out!
