One of our members reserved one of the terraces overlooking the garden of the Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola for our first get together of the autumn, after the summer break.
It was a perfect day, sunny and warm without any wind and the seventeen of us were comfortably seated on the smallest of their private terraces with the view of the lake.
Conversation was lively with guests from the UK and members from West Romandie, as well as our member who lives between the Ticino and San Diego but works all over the world and who has already had four visits to China this year.
We were particularly pleased that two of the daughters of Enid Aslan wrote to ask if they could join us. Enid was a long term regular and faithful member who had lived in Lugano since 1972, so it was lovely to have her family with us for the tea.
Nine of us stayed on for drinks with tasty things to nibble on the terrace before moving inside for dinner.
