A group of BRA Members met in Lenk at the Sporthotel Wildstrubel for an apero, before going to the hotel restaurant for a lovely 4-course meal and then onto our first enjoyable jazz concert by ‘Chris and Mike’ at their pianos.
After this concert many of us went to the hotel bar to listen to more music, where about a dozen soloists were playing a variety of jazz tunes.
This was the beginning of a relaxed and friendly weekend of chatter and jazz music in various locations …. such as in a marquee in the Kronenplatz, Lenk, in the open air, part-way up a mountain, where we were glad that the temperatures were cooler.
The location of the hotel was perfect, being surrounded by mountains, just 2 minutes walk from the railway station and 5 minutes from the Kronenplatz. We all agreed that the price of the package was very good.
It included bed and breakfast for 2 nights, tickets to four concerts, local public transport and use of the hotel swimming pool, hammam and sauna.
We all thank Joy for doing all the hard work in arranging this wonderful annual weekend.
Unfortunately, she could not join us this year, as she had had an accident. We wish her a speedy recovery and hope the pain has died away.
Thanks also to the friendly and accommodating hotel staff for making the weekend really enjoyable.
