Jazz Weekend Lenk

We had beautiful weather for the whole of the Jazz weekend in Lenk, not too hot and no rain.
Everyone arrived in time for the warm welcome by Miriam the hotel manager, where we were served drinks and introduced to “Antonio” our waiter for the weekend. We then went through to the restaurant to have a four course dinner before going on to the first Jazz show of the weekend.

The “Steppin Stompers, Dixieland Band”, were amazing and had us all tapping our feet and clapping hands, they were the topic of discussion while having drinks at the bar during the break. At the end of the evening we all danced our way to bed thoroughly happy.

The next morning we all met for breakfast, after which, some of us went to see the morning Jazz show, while others had a quite morning, relaxing or shopping.
At 14h we all met up again at the train station to board the Jazz Train, where we were accompanied by an Italian band called, “Tinto Brass”.
Nando informed the band that a person in our party had a birthday that day and we were treated to the Jazz style of Happy Birthday, for which everyone in the band got a kiss from the birthday girl 😉

When the train arrived at Saanen, we walked down the streets behind the band to the square where, bread, sausage, cheese & wine were waiting for us and the band could have a well-deserved break, after which we all returned to the train and our musical journey back to Lenk.

We all met again for dinner, before going to the evening show by the Jazzlounge 1920. As the name suggests, they performed songs from the roaring 20’s, in clothing from the era, with feathers, tassels, top hats and tails.

This was a really great weekend, in good company and very well organised by Joy, who managed all the last minute hiccups perfectly. Thank you J
