After the menu-de-jours at the restaurant Lake Side of the Hôtel Beau-Lac we walked across the road to visit the Museum of Art and History (MAHNe).
This imposing building features an impressive staircase decorated by the remarkable paintings of Léo-Paul Robert (1851-1923).
At the head of the staircase can be seen three beautiful stained-glass windows designed and executed by the British artist Clement Heaton (1861-1940).
The highlight of the visit was the demonstration of the three Jaquet Droz Automates; the writer, the pianist and the artist.
We first watched an interesting film showing the restauration of the automates, and the details concerning their conception and construction.
This was followed by the demonstration of each automate.
