Romandie East met as usual for their monthly Round Table on the 7th of the month. Our two new members joined us for a drink and also brought along their very well behaved dog.

We also had another new British arrival to Sion town, he had seen our poster at the “Bureau de l’intégration” while registering at the commune of Sion. We hope to welcome him as a new member very soon.

Everyone had a pleasant time and it was lovely to catch up with friends we hadn’t seen over the summer months and get to know the new comers to the group.

Closing time had been called and the two hour Round Table time was up; ten of us went on to the restaurant at Sion Airport to have a Valaisan Autumn speciality meal of Brisolée.

For those of you who don’t know this dish; it is a continual flow of hot roasted chestnuts, with a selection of local cheeses, air-dried meats, apples, grapes and to finish a slice of apple pie. All washed down with a glass or two of Moût (freshly pressed grape juice, sometimes just starting the fermenting process).

Great conversation continued as usual and when all were filled with good wares and feeling thoroughly satisfied, we said our goodbyes and made our way home.
