A smaller group this time met at the historical restaurant Café du Gothard, which has been active since 1850.

After an excellent lunch we visited the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and admired the beautiful stained-glass windows, both modern and old, and the many reliquaries; of St. Nicholas of Myra, St. Peter Canisius and of course St. Nicholas of Flüe.

We then strolled along to the Jean Tinguely Niki de St. Phalle Museum to admire some of their work.

After we walked down to the old city via hundreds of steps finally reaching the river Sarin at the bottom of the gorge.

Coming back up we used the old funicular which brought us back to the center town on our way to the railway station.
A pleasant day, and the weather was kind to us.
