A group of us met in Patty and Mario Pellegrini’s delightful house on 18 January for a delicious tea with every kind of ‘goody’, including specially made items for those with allergies. We enjoyed catching up with each other after the Christmas and New Year break before turning our attention to the work of Capability Brown, his landscapes and parks, many of which have remained just as he designed them and are mostly open to visitors. Sheila Winter had prepared something on Stowe. Finally, we watched a film on Capability Brown’s life and on some of the many landscapes he created.
