In spite of the pouring rain twelve brave BRA members met in Fribourg on 31 August and the long-awaited trip around Fribourg finally took place. Luckily the petit train was not open to the elements and although the windows steamed up we had a wonderful tour – through the old and new town and over numerous bridges, including La Poya bridge which is the longest suspension bridge in Switzerland: what a beautiful place– everyone was so impressed.

The restaurant we had chosen for lunch had gone bankrupt but Nigel and Rosemary Coombes suggested we tried Le Sauvage on the Plateau supérieur, which was excellent. We had a delicious meal and despite the cloudy day the wine flowed, thus adding to our pleasure.

Many thanks go to Joy Sandoz for having organized a most enjoyable day.
