This visit had been postponed since for lack of inscriptions but took place instead on 12 June with the 3 members who had made contact and who had never visited this botanic treasure before. We had with us a very knowledgeable guest from the Mallet Court Nurseries in Somerset. Thus we had a most instructive and rewarding morning in this wonderful valley, high above Lago Maggiore. Although the camellias and cornus had gone over, there were the later-flowering magnolias to admire as well as some azaleas, roses and the many rare trees. I strongly recommend a visit early next spring.
