Basel Paper Mill is the national museum for paper, typography and writing.
Within the walls of the medieval mill, visitors discover the bookmaking process from handmade paper to the finished book.
On four floors you can experience various workshops, crafting your own handmade paper, writing with ink quills or setting your name in lead types at the printer’s workshop or create your own marbling paper.
Our tour lasted for 2 hours and we are all so fascinated with the workings of the mill most of the group were looking forward to go back again and learn more.
After the tour we went to the Mill coffee shop for refreshments.
