February – Zoom Call with Howard Rosen

In the NE Region we had an inspiring February zoom meeting with BRA Member, Howard Rosen.   He studied law at Oxford University, came over to Switzerland as a qualified solicitor in 1983 and, in 1989, established the English law firm Howard Rosen Solicitors in Zug.  For 6 years he was President of the British Swiss Chamber of […]

Fondue Evening

Good, wine, good fondue and good spirits are what we needed for the BRA yearly fondue. The restaurant served the cheese in caquelons for 1 or 2 persons which we very much appreciated in these COVID times. Angie Meier-Jones

10 of us went to see the play at the “Theatre am Kaegfiturm” in Bern and what a revelation. At the beginning, we were rather skeptical. Five men on the stage telling us where they came from – Romania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Bosnia. A rather strange start and then suddenly you heard farm animal noises. From then […]

Monthly Sunday Brunch 2021

BRA Romandie-East Region Members, were happy to meet up again for our regular Monthly Sunday Brunch this year after a break of 6 months due to Covid 19 restrictions. We had all missed our Full English breakfast which Zenhäusern bakery/tea-room/restaurant in Sierre serves up especially for us, accompanied by a glass of freshly pressed orange […]

We held our traditional Christmas Luncheon at the Restaurant Mühle in Allschwil. We were happy to welcome guests from the BRA Central Region, Romandie-East Region and Ticino & Grisons Region. The highlight was to see so many members again and catch up personally on news. Despite a snowy start to the day turning to rain, it […]

A jolly group of BRA stalwarts dropped their masks and donned Christmas cracker crowns to celebrate the annual Christmas Dinner.  A scrumptious meal of turkey with traditional trimmings and excellent local wine was served by the Auberge de Founex in their festively decorated dining room. The Covid cloud lifted for a short while as we […]

We held our regional Christmas Lunch for BRA Members and  guests at the ‘Fork & Bottle’ restaurant which is situated south of Zürich city centre at Brunau. We were served the traditional British Christmas turkey meal with excellent fresh birds obtained from a local farm. The restaurant’s British chef offered the full range of vegetables […]

BRA Members met up to have their Christmas Lunch at the Hostellerie de Genève in Vevey. As the photos below show, we all had a wonderful time meeting old friends and making new ones. All thoroughly enjoyed their Traditional British Christmas Turkey Lunch with all the trimmings and Christmas Pudding. Deborah Gorsatt

A very successful Autumn National Lunch was held in October at the Hotel Villa Castagnola, Lugano attended by many members from ‘north of the alps’. We were very happy to welcome our President, Angie Meier, Vice President Andrew Konecki and Treasurer Peter Payne along with other members who made the rather long journey down here. […]

This was a very stylish lunch held in the Palace du Peyrou, Neuchâtel. This classical building, built between 1771 and 1776, by Pierre Alexander du Peyrou (1729-1794), who made his fortune in Surinam, is a fine example of French architecture. In the reception room where drinks and canapés were to be served, a graceful example […]
